This term year 9 Food Technology has been discovering how migration has changed the way Australians eat. To find out more about the influence of other cultures, Year 9 spent a day in Bankstown, Sydney doing a Taste Tour. The food trail took us on a culinary excursion exploring the food brought to Australia from Vietnam and Lebanon. Students had the opportunity to visit the best spice emporium in Sydney, taste Lebanese pizza and tuck into a bowl of pho. For those with a sweet tooth fresh fruit shakes and a selection of baklava and other sweet treats topped off the day.It was a big day that gave our students a taste of new and exciting foods and a better understanding of the cultures that are contributing to the amazing options influencing modern Australian cuisine.
