On Wednesday 31 students from Years 9 and 10 proudly represented our school at the 25th anniversary of the Science and Engineering Challenge, held at The Forum, University of Newcastle.
Mrs Radford and Mr Vogel supported our students as they competed in a variety of exciting STEM-based activities designed to test their teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Events included Wind Turbine, Confounding Communications, Flight, Job Juggle, Fish Traps, ElectraCITY, Eco-Habitech, and the crowd-favourite, The Bridge.
Our students worked in teams alongside participants from seven other schools across the Hunter region, displaying active collaboration, a 'can do' attitude, and great enthusiasm as they built, tested, and refined their designs and solutions. They approached each challenge with determination and had a lot of fun along the way!
A big congratulations to Avondale School, who took out 1st place as the Champion School for the day. We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding effort, teamwork, and the way they represented our school at this milestone STEM event.
