On November 23, the Year 8 classes all came together in a combined Creative Arts and History Medieval Day. Both classes have been learning about Medieval Europe throughout the year. Even though it was a little bit rainy, the students were actively engaged and got involved with every activity, which was so pleasing to see.
In Creative Arts students made their own heraldry to put on their clay shields, painted and fired them and then used them as plates for the day. In History, students engaged in the Medieval period, learning about everyday life, religion, politics, castles, weaponry… and so much more! We stepped back in time with a maypole, archery, a trebuchet, medieval scavenger hunt, catapult wars and our feast!
It was so amazing to see the students come dressed up in medieval costumes. They looked great! One of the best years yet! We had such a fun day with the Year 8s and really enjoyed bringing real learning to real life for the morning.
