The Year 7 adventure at Crosslands Camp kicked off with a dramatic downpour as students and staff arrived on Monday. With no chance of staying dry, everyone braved the rain, crossing the creek by barge before making their way—dripping wet—to their rooms. But just as spirits might have dampened, the skies cleared after lunch, and the real fun began. Canoeing, high ropes, team-building games, and the thrilling Burma Bridge kept everyone active and engaged. Later, students enjoyed free time, whether splashing in the pool or playing a spirited game of cricket on the lawn.
Tuesday dawned bright and sunny, setting the stage for a day packed with excitement. Students faced the Leap of Faith, zipped over the creek with laughter and squeals, and even navigated unexpected sandbars as the tide went out. With a 'challenge by choice' approach, everyone had the opportunity to push their limits—cheered on enthusiastically by the Year 11 Peer Support leaders, whose encouragement echoed across the camp.
Beyond the fun, the camp was a chance for students to step out of their comfort zones in a safe and supportive environment. Whether conquering high ropes, taking on new challenges, or spotting a wild diamond python up close, every moment was an opportunity to grow.
A huge thank you to the dedicated staff, the incredible Year 11 Peer Support leaders, and most importantly, the adventurous Year 7 students for making it an unforgettable camp experience
