Year 12 students first embarked on their journey at Crosslands as Year 7 students in 2020, and now, as they approach the end of their high school years, they returned to Crosslands to reflect on how they have grown. Meanwhile, the Year 7 cohort of 2025 attended their first camp at Crosslands, marking the beginning of their own adventure—one that will begin to shape their secondary school journey.
During their time at Crosslands, students were engaged in a series of physically demanding tasks like kayaking, canoeing, bushwalking, abseiling and challenge courses. These experiences helped them build confidence, forge friendships, and develop essential life skills. Working in groups, they tackled activities that required resilience, leadership, and cooperation. As one chapter concludes, another begins. The Year 12 students, having built resilience, leadership, and camaraderie over the years, now pass the torch to the incoming Year 7 students. This moment signifies both an ending and a new beginning, a fantastic cycle of learning and growth to reflect on. Not only does their physical stature change we can also see by the highlighted photos these transformative moments, from their first days in secondary school, filled with nervous excitement, to their final year as a Year 12 student.
This experience reflects the powerful message in Philippians 2:2-4: "Make me truly happy by… loving one another and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too."
A huge congratulations to all Year 7 and Year 12 students for embracing the spirit of teamwork and demonstrating what can be accomplished when working together. Special thank you to the teachers who dedicated their time and effort to create such an empowering and meaningful experience!
