On Monday, Year 2 stepped back in time on their excursion to Ellen White’s home, Sunnyside, built in 1896. Ellen White is a pioneer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the most translated female writer in the history of literature. Ellen White had a huge impact on developing our school system. Without Ellen White, we would not have Avondale School!
The students toured Ellen White’s home, dressed up in historical costumes, treasure hunted, washed clothes with a wash board (and even hung them out with wooden pegs), cooked damper, churned butter, identified artefacts, and played a variety of old-fashioned games
