Interested Year 10 and 11 students recently participated in an amateur astronomy evening held on the Avondale School oval. Hosted and organised by the Physics teacher, Mr Kunz, the students were treated to views of some major star constellations, Saturn's rings and moons, and close up views of our own super moon. The 12 inch Dobsonian telescope allowed us to view objects much more clearly than our smaller refractive telescopes.
