On Wednesday morning we headed to Lambton Pool to compete at the Division 2 HRIS Swimming Carnival. It was a smaller day as some schools could not attend due to flooding, or had many team members unable to make it. We had a smaller team than usual with only 37 able to attend. Some students swam in eight races and it was the consistency and dedication that led to Avondale School coming a close 2nd in the carnival (16 points behind the winners). The students should be proud of their achievements and the way they worked together to ensure that Avondale School had a swimmer in nearly every race. A special thanks to the 'cheer squad' (parents and grandparents) who came to support on the day - we could hear you on our side of the pool and it was AWESOME.
