This year has marked the inaugural year of the Secondary School Debate Club. Lead by Stephanie E (Year 11), the club meets most Fridays at lunchtimes, and has had two teams enter Australia’s National Virtual Debating Competition. Special congratulations goes to the Year 11 debate team, who this week won their debate against Wahroonga Adventist School. Stephanie E, Bethany H, and Tiarra M successfully argued the negative case “That all sport involving animals should be banned.” The senior team has learned so much from this year’s competition and has gone up against some of Australia’s leading debate teams such as Scotch College. The Debate Club is very much looking forward to next year’s competition! Well done girls!
