The two Avondale Senior (Years 5 & 6) Basketball teams played in the biggest ever basketball competition in Newcastle this week. There were 16 teams in the Boys Division and 15 in the Girls Division. The day started well with both teams winning their first game. With increased confidence both teams went on to win each of their morning Round Robin matches against the other teams in their pool.In the play-off rounds both teams successfully made it to the top 4 teams in their division. It was noticeable how each team grew in confidence and skill throughout the day.Each player demonstrated the skills that their coaches had taught them over many weeks of training. A big thank you to Mrs Livah (5L), Mr Platt (5P), Miss Fraser (Secondary Teacher) and Mr Ferris for all the time they have put into training.Congratulations to our Boys team who came 4th overall. Special congratulations to our Girls team who were Runner Up Champions.
