Graduation isn’t the end of a tough journey. It is the beginning of a beautiful one…
Do you remember the feeling when you finished your final Year 12 examination? For some it was not long ago and for many of us it was ages ago, but we can still remember that elated feeling of completing the HSC.
Our Year 12’s have that feeling right now. The last question was answered in the final examination on Wednesday this week. Just yesterday we were able to celebrate with our Class of 2020 at their Year 12 Graduation. A positive journey from Preschool to Year 12 finally completed!
They now move from Year 12 into what we have prepared them for … their ‘Year 13’ … where our students get to use the skills, knowledge and values that Avondale School has intentionally developed in each student. They get to use their ‘real learning, for real life’. We are so proud of the way that each Year 12 graduate has developed as we supported them to forge their own pathway through Avondale School. Our flexible learning and delivery has enabled each student to take a slightly different approach to their learning and go on different pathways to achieve their individual potential.
We are incredibly proud of our seniors and wish to encourage them as they move on to the next phase of their life long learning journey: more study, an apprenticeship or directly into the workplace. Whatever they choose to do, we challenge them to let their life be a reflection of the mountains they have climbed, the goals they have achieved and the inner battles they have won. We challenge them to triumphantly march forward with God at their side. We encourage them to be the best version of themselves and to carry with them memories of friends and fun experiences as they confidently forge ahead. New adventures await them and we know they are ready!
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
Congratulations Year 12 Class of 2020. We celebrate your successes and pray for you as you impact our community and our world.
