You made it! Parents, family, students, staff, and friends of our school—it's finally school holidays and the end of Term 3. This term has been packed full of fun and learning. Our students have shone for our school while serving the community, going on excursions, competing in sports, performing in the arts, preparing their projects and assessments, participating in Chapels, and during Week of Worship. I am privileged to work with students from ELC right through to Year 12, and I am continually amazed at how our students exemplify our school values in their everyday lives. We uphold these values at Avondale School because we believe they make us better citizens of the world around us and because they are rooted in the Bible. I love that Avondale School is not only a place for education but also a space for holistic growth and wellbeing. The students are reminded of their school values daily and are challenged to be the best versions of themselves.
This week, our Year 12 students celebrated their last days of school. They sat in classrooms, responded to bell times, and attended Chapel as students for the final time. I am pleased that our school has produced an excellent calibre of young adults, and I pray that God will bless our Year 12 students as they face the adventure and uncertainty of these next steps. I hope they will carry with them the faith, hope, and values they have learned here. Each one of them leaves behind their uniforms and schoolwork, but what they take with them can't be carried in a backpack.
As we all rest and recover from this term, may we rise to embrace the one to come. May we approach Term 4, HSC exams, and whatever lies ahead with courage, faith, and the values we have learned to make us better citizens of the world around us.
