Avondale University and Avondale School recently co-hosted the second annual Adventist National Games. The Adventist National Games (ANG) are a unique opportunity for young people nation wide to come together and spend time worshiping, interacting and participating in sporting excellence. It enables students to experience many of the key aspects of Avondale University campus life and has the potential to be a pivotal week in their spiritual and educational decision making. There were around 160 participants from around Australia attending and we had six basketball teams and one volleyball team representing Avondale School. Two of our U17 Boys Basketball teams came runners up in hard fought grand finals, one of which played up a division in the U20 Mens. Our U20 Mens Volleyball team came runners up in an intense grand final. Kade R, Logi S and Nash S all received the ANG Sportsmanship Award and our Avondale Panthers and U20 Mens Volleyball teams both received the ANG Unity Cup for fostering tournament unity and sportsmanship. Desire S received the ‘Lift Your Life’ Avondale University scholarship sponsored by the Lift Project. We are proud of our students' commitment to training and their attitude on and off the courts. Well done! We are grateful to our coaches, Mrs Nevell, Miss Fraser, Mr Sheedy, Mr Ferris, Mr Johnson, Mr Kea, and Pr AJ for their time and commitment in training and coaching our students throughout the year and during the ANG tournament.
